A Little More Detail
SIMA’s songwriting, production and recording studio is very unique – and on an international scale too!
Our resident songwriter/producer with many years of professional experience provides hands-on guidance and world-class productions to all our students. Some students, who take up our higher level programs can also be introduced to labels and publishers around the world. We’ve been working with some of the best and most famous ones, including majors like Sony, Warner or Universal as well as many medium-sized and smaller ones. Over the past few years, we’ve had over 30 international releases and a good number of those charted, including a couple of top-10’s!
Here’s a slightly closer look at some of our activities (for more details, click through the menus on this site):
- You can record a song demo of you performing a cover song. If you’re an experienced singer, you’ll sound better than you ever sounded before, and if you’re a relative novice, you’ll probably sound better than you ever expected.
- You can also record an original song (which you wrote already, or which you can write from scratch in the studio, or which we can help you write), and have all the instruments professionally played in for you (you can also play some of them in, if you’re any good). Next, you can have all of that professionally engineered, produced and mastered. Your final recording quality will be as good as just about anything you can hear on the radio.
- You can do both of the above on a one-off basis or you can sign up for a long-term development in order to have as many recordings as possible, all done at a top pro level, for a fraction of the cost of what you might pay in London, LA or New York.
- You can also sign up for our artist development program, where we gradually prepare you for a possible music career (in a way that wouldn’t interfere with any of your other studies, whether you’re an M1 or a D2); we help you develop your artistic persona and build a repertoire of hit-grade original songs for you. We can then pitch you to record labels and publishers and we will also help you gradually build your network of music industry contacts.
- We offer this program on two levels: “Early Development” and “Pro Development”. Early Development is for anyone 10 years and up, and it includes almost everything we offer in our “Pro” program except for pitching to labels and releasing. The “Pro” program is best for older students, but note: it is invitation-only, i.e. when you apply, we need to audition you and, possibly, first sign you up for the “Early” program first.
- In our “Pro” program we go all the way – coaching you, teaching you all you need to know about the music industry, writing, producing, organizing photo-shoots and filming you, helping you develop an Internet strategy, pitching you to labels and publishers, helping you build industry contacts, and much more) and we maximize your chances for a possible success (i.e. a record deal or an independent release).
- Finally, we also have group classes for budding songwriters/producers, where we teach you how to short-cut the learning process of not only becoming a pro singer, but also becoming a seriously good music producer and songwriter. There is so much more to production than just knowing how to use a DAW (digital audio workstation).
For all of the above courses, you can sign up for any number of short (30 minutes to 1 hour long) sessions throughout the week (as long as your parents and teachers allow you to do this in-between your regular lessons), or your can also book 1 or 2-hour after-school sessions.
NOTE: all schedules are subject to availability. If you wait too long with signing up, you may have to wait some months before a slot opens up for you.
